ArmInfo. Artsakh Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan has presented a schedule of protests outside foreign diplomatic missions in Yerevan, Armenia, amid the Azerbaijani blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Given the four-day blockade of Artsakh and cut-off of gas supply to Artsakh by Azerbaijan, as well as the resultant humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh and an inadequate response by the international community to Azerbaijan's criminal actions, protests will be held in front of the embassies of the permanent members of the U.S. Security Council in Armenia, EU Delegation to Armenia and U.S. Armenia Office.
"The protests will take place in front of:
"U.S. Embassy in Armenia, at 2:00pm
"Embassy of China, at 2:30pm
"EU Delegation to Armenia, at 3:30pm
"Embassy of France, at 4:30pm
"Embassy of Russia, at 5:00pm
"Later, we will join our fellow countrymen in voicing our protest outside the U.N. Armenia Office.
"I am going to present the situation in Artsakh and demand the defense of the all-important principle of universal human rights," Mr Stepanyan stated.
"I am also calling on all my fellow countrymen concerned over Artsakh's destiny to join the actions and present our demands to the international community," he added.
Earlier, the Tatoyan Foundation issued a statement reading, in particular:
"The Azerbaijani "environmental activist leaders" who blocked the Artsakh-Armenia road are directly financed by the Azerbaijani government or organizations affiliated with the authorities.
"This conclusion was reached by the working group established at the Tatoyan Foundation for Law and Justice, after subjecting to a professional analysis the factual data regarding the Azerbaijani eco-activist leaders who blocked the Artsakh-Armenia road.
"According to that, the organizations of people representing "environmental activist leaders" are financed by the government of Azerbaijan, in some cases, by the Heydar Aliyev Fund headed by the first vice president and first lady of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.
"In addition, the analyzes show that the Azerbaijani "environmentalist activist leaders" who blocked the Artsakh-Armenia road spread information and photos about the Aliyev family on their social media pages, spreading anti-Armenian and hateful posts and propaganda. But the main issue is that they provide the Azerbaijani government policy."
