ArmInfo.Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan took part in the extraordinary session of the National Assembly, where a statement was adopted on the prevention of a humanitarian catastrophe threatening the people of Artsakh.
In his speech, President Harutyunyan presented the military-political situation around Artsakh, emphasizing that although the authorities of the republic are ready for dialogue with Azerbaijan, they still have red lines that they will not cross.
Meanwhile, according to the video from the meeting, during his speech in parliament, Harutyunyan noted that Stepanakert would not make unilateral concessions - any concession would lead to a new concession. "Azerbaijan's demands, of course, are not of an environmental nature. The last rally in Stepanakert, the appointment of Ruben Vardanyan as a state minister and my visit to France were received painfully in Azerbaijan. They formed a stereotype that we are humbled by social, everyday problems and will give up the policy of national self-determination. It was a shock for Azerbaijan, up to numerous threats against me, against me, etc. Provocative actions will not yield results, Stepanakert will not make unilateral concessions. When they demanded environmental monitoring in the territory of Artsakh mines, we presented our demands as well. "But they ignored our proposals. If Azerbaijan's goal is environmental monitoring, then we agreed to this, but they refused, because their goal was to block the road," Harutyunyan said.
At the same time, he called on Armenians living in Armenia to make Artsakh's voice heard by international structures through peaceful actions, informing them that there is a humanitarian disaster in Artsakh. "We must not despair. We must be aware that in the event of any concession through pressure, new concessions await us. Until today, we have not made any concessions, we have never resolved any issue unilaterally or under duress. There has always been a dialogue, as a result of which we came to an agreement. These were problems related to infrastructure, roads, the use of Sarsang waters. There was always a dialogue, this time this rule was violated," Arayik Harutyunyan said, touching on the closure of the Berdzor corridor by Azerbaijanis since yesterday.
