Aghajanyan at OSCE PA meeting: We expect an adequate response to  openly aggressive actions of Azerbaijan

ArmInfo.From May 12, 2021, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan began the process of creeping invasion of the sovereign territory of Armenia. Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan stated at a meeting  of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) in Warsaw.

"Since then, there have been three major military attacks by  Azerbaijan, the latest being in mid- September this year, as a result  of which their troops occupied about 180 square kilometers territory  of Armenia;" the MP continued.

In this regard, he recalled the statement of the President of  Azerbaijan, who admitted in a strange way that "now the Armenian  people know what occupation and losses are". Aghajanyan stressed that  the international community was also largely unanimous in its  assessments, confirming that Azerbaijani troops had invaded the  sovereign territory of Armenia and should return to their positions  held until May 12, 2021.  Azerbaijan, according to him, justifies its  actions, stating that this is the result of military provocations by  Armenia, and also, referring to the lack of a demarcated border  between Armenia and Azerbaijan, claims that in such conditions no one  can be accused of invading.  

,  he said.  Aghajanyan considered the enemy's argument about the  absence of a demarcated border to be absurd and very dangerous.  , asked the  Head of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.  

The parliamentarian noted that he would like to use the platform of  the OSCE PA for a constructive dialogue with the Azerbaijani  delegation, but stressed with regret that Azerbaijan still does not  sincerely share the peace agenda of Armenia.  At the end of his  speech, Aghajanyan stated that it is important for the Armenian side  that the OSCE international partners be properly informed about the  situation in the South Caucasus. In this regard, he noted that he  expects an adequate response to Azerbaijan's openly aggressive  actions.  It should be noted that MPs Lilit Galstyan, Hripsime  Grigoryan, Maria Karapetyan and Sargis Khandanyan also delivered  remarks  at the OSCE PA session.
