ArmInfo.On November 16, President of the RA Constitutional Court received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Anne Louyot.
According to the press service of the Constitutional Court, during the meeting, Arman Dilanyan noted that at present the Armenian-French relations and judicial-legal cooperation are developing dynamically, and the Constitutional Court of Armenia is interested in further deepening cooperation with the Constitutional Council of the French Republic, which best demonstrates the logic privileged Armenian-French relations.
The President of the Constitutional Court emphasized the role of the French Republic in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the immediate reaction to the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 13-14, emphasizing France's clear, unambiguous and purposeful condemnation of this step.
Thanking Dilanyan for the high assessment and warm welcome, Anne Louyot noted that France attaches great importance to cooperation with friendly Armenia and is ready to continue efforts to bring positions closer in the judicial and legal fields. In this regard, the Ambassador welcomed the commitment of the Constitutional Court to develop relations with the Constitutional Council of the French Republic and the Association of Francophone Constitutional Courts.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the agenda of the Armenian-French bilateral legal relations and prospects for cooperation in the field of the rule of law.
At the request of the guest, Dilanyan also presented the process of institutional reforms initiated at the Constitutional Court. The Ambassador stated that the French side fully supports the reforms initiated by the court and confirmed the readiness of the French side to support this process.
