ArmInfo.Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's only concern is a threat to his wealth and dynastic power, Armenia's former FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has stated.
The Azerbaijani president is concerned over the protests and mounting discontent throughout Azerbaijan and in Baku streets, and the 2020 protests are an example.
"So Armenia and Artsakh remain his 'helpful enemies' for justifying his dictatorship. And peace appears illusory as long as the Baku dictator is occupying his seat," the diplomat said.
Ilham Aliyev will be happy to put Iran, France and UNESCO in his list of "helpful enemies". "Something is wrong in the despotic Azerbaijani kingdom," Mr Mnatsakanyan wrote.
France's Senate on Tuesday, by a vote of 295 to 1, adopted a resolution that allows France to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan for its attacks against Armenia, aggression against Artsakh and called on Azerbaijan to withdraw its troops from Armenia.
The resolution also condemned Azerbaijan for its attack on Armenia's sovereign territory in September and reaffirmed France's earlier recognition of the Republic of Artsakh.
