ArmInfo. The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Armenia Kypros Giorgallis (residence in Moscow) visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
According to the press service of the Genocide Museum-Institute, the Ambassador laid flowers at the eternal fire and honored the memory of the holy martyrs with a minute of silence. The delegation headed by him also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum, got acquainted with the permanent and temporary expositions, after which Kypros Giorgallis made an entry in the book of memory of honored guests.
Let us also add that the day before, the newly appointed Ambassador presented the copies of his credentials to RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan. The latter highly appreciated the Armenian-Cypriot interstate relations based on centuries-old friendship and close historical and cultural ties between the two fraternal peoples. Expressing gratitude for the reception and good wishes, Ambassador Kypros Giorgallis assured that he would make every effort to further expand and promote exemplary cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus. The interlocutors touched upon the issues of bilateral political dialogue, cooperation in international structures and development of trade and economic relations. The Deputy Minister presented in detail the situation that developed as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on September 13-14, and touched upon a number of important humanitarian problems that arose as a result of the 44-day war and Azerbaijani aggression. During the conversation, an exchange of views also took place on a number of issues of mutual interest on the regional and international agenda
