ArmInfo.Daily attacks by Azerbaijani army into Armenian sovereign territory are well documented by the recently deployed EU Monitoring Capacity in Armenia. RA Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan wrote about this in his microblog on Twitter.
"The mission will make it clear for EU and others that attacks are unprovoked and are well planned terror by AZ towards Armenian statehood," Marukyan noted.
Earlier, in October the EU foreign ministers agreed to send a civilian mission to solve problems on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The EU emphasizes that the decision to form this mission followed the October 6 meeting in Prague between the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, France and the head of the European Council and "is aimed at promoting the restoration of peace and security in this region, strengthening confidence and delimiting the international border between the two states." The EU Council explains that in order to quickly deploy the mission, "it was decided that monitoring experts from the EU mission would be temporarily deployed in Georgia."
