ArmInfo. The complete or partial reduction of the armed forces of Artsakh is unacceptable. Member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the opposition "I have the honor" faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
He noted that the issue of the dissolution of the Artsakh Defense Army is again coming to the fore. But if earlier this was done at the initiative of Azerbaijan and presented as a demand or a threat, now it is being activated and discussed by the Armenian side, including, oddly enough, the government circles of Artsakh. " The complete or partial reduction of the armed forces is unacceptable, even if it is presented in the context of international guarantees or a possible expansion of the composition of the Russian peacekeeping forces deployed in Artsak," the MP noted.
He added that the first problem is that the Armenian government put this topic on the agenda for discussion, or rather, for bargaining, and it is presented as if this issue was agreed with Artsakh. <I can't imagine what else needs to happen to Artsakh for them to understand that the purpose of this process, in the truest sense of the word, is to remove the last support of Artsakh. Azerbaijan is in a hurry to eliminate the most important institution of resistance before the end of the 5-year term of deployment in the region of peacekeepers, and in this case there will be no resources either for negotiations or for struggle. Not to mention the fact that after the 44-day war we saw how international guarantees were violated, even with the presence of peacekeepers, new territories of Artsakh were occupied>, Tigran Abrahamyan reminded.
