ArmInfo.Yerevan is going to present a simplified model for citizens of Azerbaijan to cross the borders of Armenia. On November 11, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia.
According to him, if we are talking about serving the regional peace agenda, then it would be a mistake if the representatives of the two nations did not communicate with each other while crossing the borders. Of course, as the Prime Minister mentioned, these contacts need to be organized.
Pashinyan noted that the Azerbaijani side has concerns about the possible crossing of the border and customs points of Armenia when enteing or leaving the territory of Nakhichevan. "But the logic is more than obvious and simple: on the territory of Azerbaijan, control is carried out by Azerbaijani border guards, on the territory of Armenia - by Armenian border guards. But if the problem is not solved in any way, it makes sense to invite an operator who will monitor this process. Moreover, from our side, they can be Russian border guards, and we will have no objections if Turkish border guards regulate the process from the Azerbaijani side>, the head of government said, adding that if this proposal turns out to be unacceptable, we can agree that control on Armenian territory will be carried out by Armenian border guards, on Azerbaijani territory - by Azerbaijani ones.
In any case, as Pashinyan emphasized, the Armenian side made several different proposals. " If the road to Nakhichevan is really a communication problem for Azerbaijan, then options should be found, instead of looking for reasons to aggravate the situation," the head of government stressed.
