This was stated on November 9 in  an interview with journalists by head of the "Armenia" opposition  parliamentary faction, former Minister of Defense of the Republic of  Armenia Seyran Ohanyan.

He noted that Azerbaijan carried out aggression not only in 2020  during the 44-day war, but also in the April 2016 war, during the  first Artsakh war. "When you hear the belligerent rhetoric of the  highest military-political leadership of a neighboring state directed  against the territorial integrity of Armenia, the behavior of the  authorities of our country, which ruined the army, is surprising, and  the actions of the opposition qualify as a struggle of revanchists,"  the former minister noted, adding that there is no nation in the  world that has not made sacrifices for its independence and  territorial integrity.  Meanwhile, as Ohanyan noted, Baku's  aggression continues today, taking various actions on the country's  borders. The enemy celebrated the day of victory in Shushi yesterday,  continuing to fire at the same time. 

Against this background, there are statements from the Armenian side  to go to negotiations, thereby driving themselves into a trap. <I  think this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If earlier we thought  for years that the Artsakh issue should be resolved with the  provision of a security zone, after which compromise options were  discussed, now the discussions are going in a completely different  direction. On the one hand, conditions are dictated to Armenia,  including the refusal of the full protection of the country's borders  and the right of self-determination of the people of Artsakh, which  the Armenian side accepts, Ohanyan said.  By signing the statement in  November 2020, the statement of the authorities, who had nothing to  do with the Artsakh liberation war, had no idea about the negotiation  process and the full potential of negotiations.  Ohanyan noted that  the actions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have a logical  continuation, the beginning of which was laid by his father, Heydar  Aliyev, constantly organizing provocations and disregarding all  international humanitarian norms. The silence of the international  community is nothing but a matter of consent. Representatives of the  "Armenia" faction raise 2 issues on all international platforms -  condemnation of the actions of Azerbaijan with the application of  appropriate sanctions against Azerbaijan and its leadership, and  prevention of torture against Armenian prisoners of war,  misappropriation or destruction of Armenian monuments remaining in  the occupied territories. Of course there are individual political  leaders, organizations and countries that condemned the actions of  Baku, but, according to the oppositionist, the actions of the  Armenian authorities in this direction are still insufficient.  The  MP noted that the current Armenian authorities are trying to falsify  all the results of the negotiation process achieved by the previous  authorities. Ohanyan noted that the idea of the right of the people  of Artsakh to self-determination was at the heart of all the  documents. The former minister sees the solution to the existing  problem in the Armenia-Russia-Azerbaijan format. Considering the fact  that peacekeeping forces have been deployed in Artsakh, we should not  forget that the main guarantor of the security of the people of the  republic was the Defense Army and the Republic of Armenia. At the  same time, the Artsakh Defense Army was formed as a result of  Azerbaijan's aggression.
