ArmInfo. On the border of Armenia, in the Vayots Dzor region, the situation remains relatively calm. Governor of the region Ararat Grigoryan announced this to journalists on November 7.
He stressed that after the well-known events of September 13 in the city of Jermuk, no incidents were noted. <A couple of weeks ago, the Ministry of Defense issued a message about a small conflict, but in general the situation is calm. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces has already informed the public about our losses. According to our information, the units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan continue to be in the territories occupied by them, which is visible even from the city of Jermuk.>, the governor said. As Grigoryan stressed, the situation developing in the region cannot but cause concern. In the event of a new aggression, the Armenian armed forces are much better prepared. "As a result of the additional measures taken and the involvement of additional forces, we can talk about the possibility of an adequate response," the governor said, adding that no one saw enemy forces in the Jermuk gorge. He mentioned that after the aggression of September 13, life in Jermuk has changed. The shelling of the city could not but affect the daily life of the local residents. Some of the residents were moved to safer places during the hostilities. At this time, a large group of tourists rested in the city. However, over the past 15 days, life in the city has been completely restored. Step by step, everyday problems of the residents of Jermuk are being solved, despite the more than significant decrease in the tourist flow, as it was before. "Obviously, by the end of the year we will not have such a flow of tourists. If there were no vacant places in local hotels and health resorts before the hostilities, now their workload is about 40%>, the governor said, adding that as a result of working with tour operators, there has been a slight increase in the number of tourists, including foreign ones.
