ArmInfo.A trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, respectively, starts in Sochi. It was preceded by Putin-Pashinyan and Putin-Aliev bilateral meetings.
During bilateral meetings with the President of Russia, the Prime Minister of Armenia proposed to include in the text of the statement planned following the results of the trilateral meeting the thesis that the Armenian side supports the Russian approach to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
"I want to emphasize once again that the approaches on Nagorno-Karabakh proposed by the Russian version of the basic principles and parameters for establishing interstate relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia are acceptable to us," Pashinyan said.
Vladimir Putin said that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh must be ended. He stressed that the Armenian side has the will to end this conflict.
In turn, the President of Azerbaijan announced five principles for the normalization of relations with Armenia: among them the mutual recognition of the sovereignty and inviolability of the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, confirmation of the mutual absence of territorial claims, refraining from threats to security, delimitation and demarcation of the border and the launch of transport links.
The President of Azerbaijan also thanked Vladimir Putin for his role in resolving the situation in Nagorno- Karabakh. The Russian leader, in turn, noted that the Russian peacekeeping contingent is properly fulfilling its mission in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Aliyev-Putin talks lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. The negotiations between Pashinyan and Putin lasted a little more than two hours.
