ArmInfo. The key to the existence of the Armenian Artsakh in the conditions of post-war realities is the presence of the Russian military contingent in the NKR, with all the problems of the peacekeeping mission and along with the facts of violation of security guarantees. Former adviser to the RA General Prosecutor Gor Abrahamyan shares a similar opinion.
At the same time, he believes that in fact the meaning of the competition between the American and Russian visions of the Artsakh problem lies in determining the possibility of the future presence of this Russian contingent in Artsakh or its exclusion.
"For the preservation of this contingent, it is necessary to fight in any way at the state level, if this does not require territorial and sovereign concessions from Armenia (until real alternative security mechanisms are formed).
At the level of the movement, of its people, Artsakh, today formulated its expectations of resolving its issue, marking red lines and almost completely ignoring the consequences of the 44-day war," Abrahamyan said, referring to the all-republican rally held in Stepanakert on October 30.
In his opinion, at the same time, to what extent it corresponds to current realities depends on what underlies the statement adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Artsakh - on what rational analysis of regional and global challenges it is based.
"The rally was, of course, influential, beautiful and important. But now the moment has come for concrete proposals for political decisions and full responsibility for them," Abrahamyan summed up.
It should be noted that a nationwide rally was held at the Renaissance Square in Stepanakert on October 30. The purpose of the rally is to state that the people of Artsakh do not see Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, to emphasize that no one has the right to sign any document by which Artsakh will be recognized as Azerbaijani part, the protestors also appealed to the Russian Federation to extend and strengthen the peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.
In parallel with it, an extraordinary meeting was held in the National Assembly of Artsakh, as a result of which a joint statement was adopted. According to the media, from 65,000 to 70,000 people came to the Renaissance Square, and this is about half of the population of the Republic of Artsakh.
