ArmInfo. The Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) has issued a statement following the resolution approved by the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh on October 30. The resolution was read out for the world in Stepanakert's Revival Square.
The statement reads, in particular:
"We are sure that a sovereign, secure and effective course of Artsakh and Armenia depends on common will and determination. Each of us must realize his or her personal responsibility in the permanent task of defending the Artsakh Armenians from genocide and deportation.
"Each Armenian residing and working in Armenia, Artsakh or in the Armenian Diaspora must contribute to a victory of this new milestone of the Artsakh Armenians' struggle.
"Artsakh's independence is in conformity with all the international legal norms and has precedents. Therefore, we have real guarantees of professional actions in all international agencies."
The DPA agrees with the fundamental resolution by the Artsakh National Assembly: no authority in Armenia has the right to renounce its national mission to guarantee Artsakh's security or sign a document that would question Artsakh's sovereignty or secure future.
"The principles are enshrined in the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Armenia and in statutory orders. We are all ethnic Armenians. No Armenia without Artsakh and no Artsakh without Armenia," the DPA's statement reads.
A mass rally took place in Artsakh, with the number attendees estimated at 70,000. The rally was aimed to show the world that Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan.
