ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan chaired an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council on October 28 via videoconference.
The meeting was also attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas. This was reported by the press service of the RA government.
During the meeting, the report of the CSTO Secretary General on the results of the work of the mission sent to Armenia by the protocol decision adopted at the meeting of the Collective Security Council on September 13 of this year was discussed.
During the session, the RA Prime Minister noted that the Secretary General's report greatly expresses the current realities, in particular the fact of the invasion of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia by the Azerbaijani units and the danger of its repetition, as well as the need for the Azerbaijani forces to return to their initial positions.
Prime Minister Pashinyan referred to Armenia's expectations regarding the actions to be taken by the CSTO. In particular, he once again stressed the need for a clear political assessment by the CSTO regarding the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on May 12, 2021 and after that, including the aggression on September 13-14, 2022, and the formation of a clear roadmap for the restoration territorial integrity of Armenia. Following the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO countries were instructed to agree on a draft decision.
