ArmInfo. As a result of Armenia's appeal to the CSTO, an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Organization was held, after which the CSTO group visited the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions to assess the consequences of the armed aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the spot.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, answering the questions of parliamentarians during the government hour, stated. <We are initiating an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Council in the near future to discuss this report. I hope that the meeting will take place very soon," he said.
The prime minister also noted that Armenia expects from the CSTO a clear political assessment of the Azeri aggression against sovereign territory of Armenia, and the adoption of a road map for restoring the territorial integrity of Armenia.
"These are the two expectations, which I think are not only the Armenian government's expectations but also the expectations of the Armenian society and people," Pashinyan said.
It should be noted that on September 20, a CSTO mission led by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas arrived in Armenia to study the situation, including on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and prepare proposals for additional joint measures. The Mission was entrusted with the task of assessing the current situation, preparing a detailed report to the heads of the CSTO member states on the situation in the region and developing proposals for de-escalating the tension that had arisen in certain areas on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
