ArmInfo. To date, the Armenian authorities have not prepared a concept or plan for reforming the armed forces. Former Minister of Defense of Armenia, member of the <I have the honor> faction Seyran Ohanyan, stated this during a briefing on October 25.
"I personally asked Nikol Pashinyan in the National Assembly on what basis does he say that reforms are being carried out in the army? And what document has been drawn up for this: a plan for reform, development, a concept. After a long conversation, he said that in fact such a document does not exist. After that, one of the representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia stated that this document had been sent for revision", he said. In this regard, Ohanyan stressed that the reform of the Armed Forces provides for a revision of military and defense policies, and is carried out with the support of a local and international expert group operating as part of an interdepartmental commission.
<This suggests that for 2 years no one worked on the concept or plan of reform. There were only conversations>, the former Minister of Defense emphasized. At the same time, he mentioned that if it takes 6 months to 1 year to draw up such a document in peaceful conditions then in the current conditions, in which Armenia is, the authorities were obliged to draw up this plan within a period of 3 to 6 months.
