ArmInfo. The House of Senators of Uruguay condemned Azerbaijan's invasion of the internationally recognized territory of Armenia. Thus, the statement adopted by Uruguay Senate, published on Twitter, reads, in particular: "Given the surge in clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the bombardment of Armenian territories by Azerbaijanis, we declare that:
We condemn Azerbaijan's invasion of the internationally recognized territory of the Republic of Armenia,
We express our solidarity with the Armenian people who suffered from the attack of Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of Armenia, and also we express our condolences regarding the killed Armenians.
We express our concern over the losses and concern over the clashes on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
We note that in the presence of many records of war crimes committed by Azerbaijani servicemen against Armenian prisoners of war, a full and impartial investigation is necessary, as stated by the USA, France, the European Union, Russia, Great Britain and other countries.
We reject the use of threats and force as a means of resolving disputes.
We express the hope that the diplomatic negotiations launched between the two countries with the involvement of mediators from third countries will make it possible to reach an agreement based on the implementation of international law and ensure lasting peace between the two countries, taking into account the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia.
We call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to respect a complete ceasefire based on the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, and to restore the path of dialogue through the OSCE Minsk Group and other agreed channels, with the support and guarantees of the international community, in accordance with the principles of the United Nations, which is also expressed in the message of our Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated September 14,2022".
