Papikyan meets with technical staff of EU Assessment Mission

ArmInfo.On October 17, RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received the members of the EU Technical Assessment Mission.  According to the press service of the  RA Ministry of Defense, Welcoming the delegation's visit to Armenia,  Papikyan expressed his willingness to cooperate with the mission and  provide assistance to it.

During the meeting, the main goals and objectives of the mission were  presented. Technical organizational issues related to its activities  were discussed.

It should be noted that on October 6 in Prague, as part of the first  summit of the European Political Community, initiated by Macron, a  quadripartite meeting of the leaders of France Emmanuel Macron,  Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the  European Council Charles Michel was held.

As a result of the meeting, Armenia agreed to contribute to the  implementation of the EU civil mission on the border with Azerbaijan,  with which it expressed its readiness to cooperate. The purpose of  the mission is to build confidence and facilitate the work of the  border commissions. According to the quadrilateral statement, the  mission was supposed to start work in October and work for two  months. The technical part of the mission has already arrived in  Yerevan.
