ArmInfo. The Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces said today that the Azerbaijani military committed atrocities against an Armenian female soldier, cutting off her legs and fingers. Aram Vardevanyan, MP from the opposition Armenia faction, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"On the same day, a few hours before this statement, government officials said that "the current situation in no way detracts from the importance of the peace agenda". That is, the authorities, instead of calling this country an international criminal, terrorist, demanding international legal punishment, instead of implementing state policy in this direction, in the direction of the international criminal court, increasing the resources of the army, continue to talk about the "peace agenda". If after all this there is another option than the resignation of the current government, please tell me," Vardevanyan wrote.
In turn, another opposition MP from the "I have the Honor" faction, defense expert Tigran Abrahamyan, reacting to the statement of the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Armenia on the advancement of the enemy, stated that Armenia, on the one hand, had problems associated with large territorial and human losses. And on the other hand, according to him, we need to understand that there are areas where, from a military and strategic point of view, wedging in a 100-meter section can cause ten times more damage to the country's security than in another arbitrary section of 1 km.
"After the war of 2020, Azerbaijan is already carrying out the 3rd aggression, after May and November 2021, not to mention the invasion in the direction of the village of Parukh and the Karaglukh mountain range of the Askeran region of the Republic of Artsakh. During this period, Azerbaijan tried to reach the maximum advantageous for the areas, to be located at tactical and strategic heights, which, on the one hand, will allow them to ensure control over the strategic facilities, communications and nodes of Armenia, and on the other hand, in the case of larger operations, to get significant starting advantages," he summed up.
