ArmInfo.. The parliament of Kazakhstan declared its disinterest in sending troops to resolve the conflict between Baku and Yerevan. At the same time, the Majilis of the republic refuted reports from the Russian segment of Telegram that Nur-Sultan allegedly plans to suspend membership in the CSTO next year.
Aydos Sarym, a member of the Defense and Security Committee of the Majilis of Kazakhstan, told the "Moskva Speaks" radio station that such conversations are not being held in power bodies. At the same time, he noted that the country does not want to take part in the military settlement of the confrontation between Baku and Yerevan, since it has friendly ties with Azerbaijan.
"There were no such rumors, let alone discussions. It seems to me that there is no point in discussing rumors and Telegram channels. Kazakhstan has repeatedly stated its position and, in my opinion, it did not consider withdrawal and suspension of membership in the CSTO. I would see an Armenian trace in this, something else. It is clear that in a situation of conflict with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan is in no way interested in sending troops there, somehow supporting Armenia to the detriment of our relations with Azerbaijan. I think this is stuffing, an attempt put pressure on Kazakhstan to change its position. Azerbaijan is a very important country for us, with which there is a huge trade turnover, very big plans. Public opinion is more in favor of Azerbaijan," he said.
On September 13, at 00:05 am, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces began intensive shelling of Armenian positions from artillery and large-caliber guns in the direction of Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions using UAVs. Attacks were also made on civilian infrastructure facilities. According to the Prime Minister of Armenia, Armenia has applied for the 4th point of the CSTO Charter in connection with Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. On September 13, following an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, an agreement was reached on sending a CSTO Mission to the Republic of Armenia "to assess the current situation, prepare a detailed report to the heads of state." In addition, at the meeting it was decided to create a working group "from among the employees of the secretariat and the military personnel of the joint headquarters for constant monitoring of the situation in the area of responsibility of the CSTO."
