ArmInfo. Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan met with Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan Igor Khovyaev.
According to the press service of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Grigoryan presented to his interlocutor the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as a result of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan at midnight on September 13. The interlocutors also discussed a wide range of issues related to the regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On the night of September 13, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan began large-scale military operations on the border with Armenia using UAVs and large-caliber weapons. Armenia turned to Russia, the CSTO and the UN Security Council in connection with the aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia. In connection with the current situation, the RA police switched to enhanced service. There are reports of dead and wounded on both sides. According to the RA Prime Minister, at least 49 Armenian soldiers were killed. And Azerbaijan confirmed the death of its 50 soldiers. Moscow announced the achievement of a truce between the parties as of 09:00 am on September 13. Meanwhile, the RA Ministry of Defense later reported on ongoing hostilities. France announced its intention to appeal to the UN Security Council because of the situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border. Armenia initiated a special meeting of the OSCE Council. The CSTO will send a mission to the region. From early morning the enemy resumed offensive operations on the eastern lines.
