"In Gegharkunik, in addition to Sotk, Verin Shorzha, Norabak and Kut, the directions of Azat, Airk, Tretuk, Kutakan villages are also targeted. Houses belonging to residents, livestock farms were targeted, cars were damaged or destroyed in Sotk, Norabak, Kutakan, Kut, Ayrk.
Azerbaijani armed forces have intentionally caused significant damage particularly to residents who were forced to leave their homes and left their cattle under shelling and attacks. This will put people in front of serious social problems, depriving them of livelihood and the possibility of earning family income," Arman Tatoyan stated.
Earlier, the office of the RA HRD reported that the number of injured civilians at the moment is 4 people, two of whom were visited by representatives of the Protector in the hospital. "At least 2,570 people were forced to leave their homes in the settlements of Gegharkunik and Syunik regions. The vast majority of displaced persons are women, children, elderly people, including the disabled people. The children of these communities, in addition to forced relocation and a difficult psychological condition, are deprived of the opportunity to exercise their right to education," the Ombudsman's Office noted.
