ArmInfo.Arman Yegoyan, a member of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction and Chairman of the Standing Committee on European Integration, speaks of "cautious optimism" about the signals by France and the United States aimed at preventing further Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia's sovereign territory.
Armenia request France, which is chairing the UN Security Council, to convene an extraordinary meeting on September 14.
According to Mr Yegoyan, the forthcoming meeting of the UN Security Council has uncertain prospects as all the permanent members (Russia, France, China and Great Britain) have their vital interests in the region.
"The discussion results may be most unpredictable. However, the responses of France and the United States inspire cautious optimism," he told reporters on September 14.
