ArmInfo. Javier Colomina, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs & Security Policy and Special Representative for the Caucasus & Central Asia, has welcomed the return of Armenian soldiers by Azerbaijan.
"Good news indeed, and it's significant that it was the result of a bilateral effort with no intermediaries. NATO supports the normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, key for the stability and prosperity of the South Caucasus," he tweeted in response to a tweet by Ned Price, Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, who posted the following Twitter message earlier:
"We welcome reports of Armenian detainees returned home, a positive development for Armenia and Azerbaijan peace process. We hope all remaining detainees return home soon and Azerbaijan and Armenia continue taking steps to build trust and resolve outstanding differences."
ICRC representatives visited Armenian servicemen that have been in Azerbaijan from late August to early September. The servicemen could hold telephone talks with their families and send video messages.
