ArmInfo. The Armenia bloc has issued a statement in the 31st anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh's Independence.
On September 2, a the joint session of deputies of all levels of the Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Region and Shahumyan region made a decision on the adoption of the declaration of independence of Nagorno Karabakh by exercising the right to self-determination.
At the December 10, 1991, referendum, the overwhelming majority of Artsakh Armenians said 'yes' to their newly independent states.
"Thus, the Armenian history recorded one of its brightest chapters - revival of second Armenian statehood, which became a reality due to the Armenian people's hard and self-sacrificing struggle. Many years of hard work and sacrifice resulted in the formation of the Republic of Artsakh, with its government institutes, educational and cultural establishments, economic potential. Artsakh was gaining strength and exerting national efforts as it was convinced that the common security and economic system with Armenia was a whole. Alas, the adventurist and short-sighted policy being implemented by Armenia's incumbent authorities has delivered a catastrophic blow to the Armenia-Artsakh unity, endangering out two states' security.
"Nonetheless, however grave are the consequences of the 44-day war, Artsakh's fate is in our hands. Defeat is not a verdict. Dignity and independence are the gain of the peoples that never abandon their hopes and know the price of their land and Homeland. We, the Armenians, have the persistence and conviction and potential for new victories. We can do everything together! Long live the Republic of Artsakh! Long live the united Armenian people!"
