ArmInfo. On July 7, a meeting of the Commission on Television and Radio Broadcasting was held, on the agenda of which were two issues related to determining the date of the competition for slots in the Public Multiplex and taking administrative action against the Husaber company, which owns the Yerkir Media TV company.
The Commission, in the course of exercising its supervisory functions assigned by the Law "On Audiovisual Mass Media", based on the results of control over the activities of the "Yerkir-Media" TV company, recorded manifestations of profanity. As part of the administrative proceedings, the company indicated in its written explanation that the violations indicated in the protocol, that is, swearing, were heard during the live broadcast of the "Yerkir Media" program. The journalist who worked on the spot objectively did not have the opportunity to prevent, or to warn the offender about the inadmissibility of the act. It should be noted that Yerkir-Media also showed the "Corruption 2: Revenge" film directed by Gor Vardanyan, containing footage that belittles and discredits universal human values, in particular, mockery of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the cross, a symbol of the Christian faith and Jesus Christ.
The Commission, having studied the materials and facts obtained in the course of the administrative proceedings, states that on the air of the Yerkir Media TV and radio broadcasting company, the program entitled "Protests Continue in Yerevan and the Regions" contained swear words, while there are shots in the "Corruption 2: Revenge" movie that degrade and discredit universal values. Taking into account the abovementioned, the Commission fined the TV company in the amount of four hundred minimum wages (400 thousand drams).
The Commission also decided on June 15 to resume the competition for a license to use slots in the public multiplex, during which participants will be selected, and the winner will be determined by rating voting.
