ArmInfo.The RA Anti-Corruption Committee and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
According to the official report, the Memorandum was signed during Vice-Chairman of the Anti- Corruption Committee of Armenia, Mushegh Babayan's official visit to Washington, June 12 to 17.
"The Memorandum is aimed at ensuring direct communication and exchange of information between the two agencies with similar functions, cooperation in battle corruption crime, at organizing exchange programs and working discussions," an official report reads.
The goal of Mr Babayan's visit was establishing bilateral ties and expanding cooperation between Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee and partner agencies in the United States, as well as studying the U.S. partners' best practices in preliminary investigation and intelligence activities.
Mr Babayan held meetings at the FBI and Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Department of State, as well as at other agencies. The sides discussed methods of investigating corruption crimes.
An agreement was reached with the FBI and Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Department of State, on training courses and trips to improve professional skills of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee staff.
