During the telephone conversation, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Netherlands, Ararat Mirzoyan and Wopke Hoekstra, expressed satisfaction with the current positive dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries, close cooperation in various fields, as well as the activity of mutual visits at high and highest levels.
According to the Press Service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in this context, the interlocutors especially emphasized the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Netherlands.
Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of the Netherlands' assistance to the broad agenda of reforms being carried out in Armenia and expressed hope that effective interaction between the parties will be long-term. Wopke Hoekstra, in turn, highly appreciated the recorded significant progress of Armenia in the issue of democratic development.
In the context of the development of economic cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands, the importance of intensifying contacts between the business circles of the two countries and implementing joint programs was noted. During the telephone conversation, the parties also touched upon a number of issues of regional and international security.
The RA Foreign Minister presented to his interlocutor the situation around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the position of the Armenian side regarding the processes aimed at establishing regional peace and stability, regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry highly appreciated the adoption by the Dutch Parliament of about two dozen resolutions condemning the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh.
The humanitarian problems created in Artsakh after the 44-day war were touched upon.
The foreign ministers of the two countries stressed the imperative of the immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians illegally detained in Azerbaijan. The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the need to preserve the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories that have come under Azerbaijani control.
Mirzoyan also presented to his counterpart the latest developments in the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.
