ArmInfo. The general state budget of Artsakh in 2021-2022, as well as the financial assistance of the Armenian government to Artsakh have reached unprecedented scales. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan once again reminded of this on June 15 during the discussion of the implementation of the state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2021 in Parliament.
Pashinyan recalled that in 2019 the budget of Artsakh reached an unprecedented 117.9 billion drams, of which 57.8 billion drams were provided by Armenia. In 2021, the revenue side of the Artsakh budget reached 174 billion drams, of which 128 billion drams were paid by Armenia. <Artsakh has never had a larger budget, and Armenia has never provided more assistance to Artsakh. Armenia's assistance to Artsakh in 2021 increased by 122% or 70 billion drams, while the total budget of Artsakh increased by 48% or 45 billion drams," he said.
The prime minister noted that 73% of Artsakh's 2021 state budget was paid by the RA government. After the end of the 44-day war - from November 2020 to the end of 2021, Armenia allocated a total of 136 billion drams to Artsakh. As part of the financing, the costs of utility bills for the population of Artsakh were covered. During this period, the Republic of Armenia, through the state treasury, also paid for the costs of the healthcare sector and paid the salaries of public sector workers - from members of the National Assembly to teachers.
He recalled that only budgetary assistance from the state budget of Armenia to Artsakh will amount to 160 billion drams in 2022. "Thanks to our assistance in Artsakh, pensions and benefits increased by 20% in 2022, large-scale housing construction is being carried out," he stressed. The Armenian government, as Pashinyan pointed out, will continue its assistance to Artsakh. At the same time, according to the prime minister, "the current government has never really trumpeted about this, despite the fact that various circles are trying not to notice it."
