ArmInfo. The work of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member countries was constructive, in a positive, benevolent manner. Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas stated on June 10 in Yerevan following the results of the last meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council.
At the same time, he stated that the participants of the CSTO Ministerial Council meeting held in Yerevan paid great attention to the state of international and regional security. "The situation is not easy in all of our three collective security regions. As for the Eastern European region, it is getting worse there," Zas said, in this vein pointing out the need to remove due attention from the CSTO ministers to the situation in the organization's area of responsibility. The CSTO Secretary General said that today in Yerevan the ministers agreed on a document-statement on the situation with international security, in which they express deep concern over the ongoing degradation of the international security system.
"The position on upholding and strict observance of the principle of equal and indivisible security, the inadmissibility of strengthening some states at the expense of others was expressed. Support for further strengthening the leading role of the UN Security Council in maintaining international peace and security was also expressed," Zas said.
At the same time, he noted that the second issue was the discussion of work to improve the crisis response. "This is one of the priorities of the Armenian side. Of course, the first practical experience that we received during our peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan when using the crisis response system gave us a good basis for improving this area of activity," Zas said, adding that he informed the Foreign Minister about the work carried out in this direction in the CSTO.
According to him, within a month they intend to develop draft documents. In particular, the adjustment of the regulatory framework, the adjustment of the training system for command and control bodies and troops, including the working bodies of the CSTO, and a number of other tasks are being solved.
