According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the course of his report, Kazhoyan touched upon the existing problems on the sustainable development agenda. In this regard, he pointed to the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in 2020, which led to a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the source, during the meeting, the Armenian delegation also took part in a number of thematic meetings important for Armenia, held a number of bilateral meetings with delegations of the member countries of the commission and observer countries. In addition, Kazhoyan held a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of UNESCAP Armida Alisjahbana, to whom he presented his credentials. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between Armenia and the Commission.
The 78th meeting of ESCAP was held from May 23 to May 27 in Bangkok.
