ArmInfo. From June 14 to September 30, the "South Caucasian Railway" company is starting to carry out summer passenger transportation on the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan route.
According to the official statement of the company, transportation along this route will be carried out twice a week: from Yerevan on Tuesdays and Fridays, departure from Batumi - on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
At the same time, on the remaining days of the week, a passenger train will run on the Yerevan-Tbilisi- Yerevan route: departure from Yerevan on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and departures from Tbilisi on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays. "The combination of two international routes is associated with increased demand in the Tbilisi direction," the report says.
According to the source, both international trains include modern, comfortable carriages purchased by SCR in 2021. The cars are equipped with a modern air conditioning system, Wi-Fi, facilities for people with disabilities.
"South Caucasus Railway" CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of "Russian Railways" OJSC and carries out concession management of Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was transferred to the concession management of SCR CJSC in accordance with the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of concession management is 30 years with the right to prolong for another 10 years.
