ArmInfo.Direct dialogue is a necessary condition for the normalization of relations and the preparation of a comprehensive peace agreement. This is stated in the microblog on Twitter of the Polish OSCE Chairmanship, published following the EU-mediated meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"We remain ready to contribute to efforts to ensure a peaceful, democratic and prosperous future for the South Caucasus," the statement says.
It should be noted that yesterday's meeting in Brussels is the third in the Pashinyan-Mishel-Aliyev format. As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on the following issues: border issues: in the coming days, the first joint meeting of the Border Commissions will be held on the interstate border, at which they will consider all issues related to the delimitation of the border and how best to ensure a stable situation; transport links: leaders agreed on the need to start unblocking transport links, they agreed on the principles governing transit between western Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan and between different parts of Armenia through Azerbaijan, as well as international traffic through the communication infrastructure of both countries; peace agreement: the leaders agreed to continue discussions on a future peace treaty regulating interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
