ArmInfo. The statements made by the revanchists posing as opposition are at least unclear as they have nothing in common with the real political agenda, Arpi Davoyan of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction said in an interview with ArmInfo.
"The people in the streets have no agenda. They cannot even explain their reasons for going out. And their leaders are not giving any reasonable answers to these elementary questions. Instead, they are only demanding the removal of the ruling party from power. But they are not saying what is going to take place afterwards, posing as saviors of Armenia. All these 'heroes' are seeking just one thing, power," Ms Davoyan said.
She admits her political team's indirect responsibility for not restricting fair punishment of all the criminals that are in the streets now to the legal framework, which has extended the process seriously. Capitalizing on this, these same people are asking: "if we are robbers, why are we not behind the bars?" In this context, Ms Davoyan said that the public discontent with the authorities is justifiable.
According to Ms Davoyan, the revanchists have just realized that real power is the people. So they are trying to imitate the 2018 velvet revolution with no chance of success - only because their only agenda is to return to power. Otherwise they feel "complete nonentities."
The authorities are not going to conduct any negotiations with such an opposition. Moreover, stirring up hatred and insulting the sections of the population not sharing their views is inciting the people, which has its impact on the prospects of the revanchists themselves, who do not quite well understand where they are and what they are saying.
"Do you want to see the reality? You can just go out into the street and talks to the people only to see the real level of public support for the revanchists. And their only hope is the money they have now decided to use to buy this support, and their only hope is to return to power only to protect their fortunes. And all that big talk of Artsakh, saving Armenia and so on is nothing but window-dressing," Ms Davoyan said.
