ArmInfo. Armenian-Swiss political consultations have taken place in Bern, Switzerland.
The Armenian delegation was headed by Tigran Samvelyan, Head of the European Department, and the Swiss delegation was led by Anna Ifkovits Horner, Director for Eurasia, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The sides congratulated each other on the 30th anniversary of Armenian-Swiss diplomatic relations.
The Armenian and Swiss delegations highly appreciated the bilateral political dialogue, cultural, educational and scientific cooperation and stated their willingness to develop it.
The sides also expressed their satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation within international organizations and discussed issues of mutual aid. They emphasized the role of the parliamentary friendship groups.
The sides also discussed the activities of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Armenia and highlighted the importance of the 2022-2025 strategy of implementation of ambitious programs.
The Armenian side emphasized the need for a comprehensive solution to the humanitarian problems caused by the 44-day war and re-affirmed the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship's key role in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the issue of Artsakh status. The Armenian side also pointed out Armenia's steps toward peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The Armenian delegation was also hosted by Deputy State Secretary Johannes Matyassy.
