ArmInfo.Members of the Resistance Movement, demanding the resignation of the current Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and his team, are marching to the building of the National Assembly, where the "Government Hour" will be held today.
The coordinator of the Resistance Movement, Deputy Speaker of the RA parliament from the "Armenia" opposition bloc, Ishkhan Saghatelyan called on everyone to avoid from getting involved in any incidents and not to succumb to provocations.
"We will go to the parliament in an organized manner. We will not go for provocations, we will not seize buildings. Why, we will not seize buildings? Because there is no more power in any building, it is on the street. Our movement is gaining momentum, more and more citizens join us. I ask you not to succumb to provocations. Nikol will try to provoke incidents in order to create grounds for the involvement of the police. Therefore, I ask you to be as restrained as possible," Saghatelyan said.
It should be noted that a large number of police officers surrounded the Armenian parliament building.
It should also be noted that earlier the Police and the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia issued statements about a possible attempt to seize the parliament building. "The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia received reliable operational information that the organizers of the rally in Yerevan intend to provoke illegal actions through provocations during the regular session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia held today, and to induce the participants in the rally to seize the building of the National Assembly, to force them to perform any actions, thus destabilize the internal security of the country, undermine public order and security. The Service calls on all law-abiding citizens not to succumb to provocations, to refrain from illegal steps, otherwise they will equally share the entire burden of criminal responsibility," the statement said.
