ArmInfo. Talking to reporters on April 19, Nver Kirakosyan, a participant in the 44-day war, who is on a hunger-strike now, said that he and his fiends will consider their task accomplished when "there is a critical mass" in Yerevan's Liberty Square.
Talking to reporters on April 18, Mr Kirakosyan and his friend Artur Avagyan told about their goals.
"Artur and I are here now not as persons, but as personified concern. And the reason for our coming to Liberty Square is the Artsakh Parliament's statement. We could hold our protest in front of Matenadaran [Institute of Ancient Manuscripts] or somewhere else not to be identified with any force. But we have found courage to send a signal to the people that it is time to be superior to anything personal. It is time for being superior to any party affiliation as we are dealing with threats to absolute values," Kirakosyan said.
Claiming widespread support, he goes on: "We are continuing our hunger-strike, and our message remains unchanged. We are appealing to young people. We will consider our task accomplished if there is a critical mass here."
In his turn, Artur Avagyan said: "The generation of independence was born by the Artsakh movement. And it is a requirement of the time that the generation of independence should rise and speak up on the issues they have not yet stated their position on."
In reading out their message to the public, the protesters said:
"We are calling on all university students and teachers, our workmates, influential young people, IT community members, painters, intellectuals who are bearing the values of generation of independence to come here today attend the public debate on Commitment of Generation of Independence in Current Situation. We are calling on everyone to join, and we are going to continue our struggle as long as apathy is shown."
