ArmInfo. Moscow proceeds from the fact that the normalization of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is based on the trilateral agreements between the Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders of November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson for the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a news briefing in response to a question about Russia's position on the EU's attempts to play a role in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
On Aril 9 President Vladimir Putin discussed all the relevant issues with the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders, Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan.
"This topic is the focus of the April 8 negotiations between the Russian and Armenian FMs, Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan, as well as of the telephone talk with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov," she said.
Russia will continue assisting the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As regards the EU's role, Minister Sergey Lavrov made his assessments at a press conference on the results of his negotiations with Minister Mirzoyan, Ms Zakharova said.
"As to border delimitation, Russia is mentioned there. It is evidence of what is more important for the EU - developing what has been achieved or using Karabakh to demonstrate its Russophobia. It is regrettable. Russia will never scarify its allies' interests to geopolitical designs," Mr Lavrov said.
