ArmInfo.Taguhi Tovmasyan of the opposition parliamentary faction With Honor informed Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin of the situation in Artsakh after the Azerbaijani invasion. Ms Tovmasyan reported on her Facebook page that she arrived in Artsakh on March 22 and was in the Khramort community when the Azerbaijani forces occupied the Parukh community.
After the Azerbaijani invasion, she requested an audience with the Russian ambassador to inform him of the situation she had witnessed in Artsakh.
"Yesterday I had a meeting with the Russian ambassador. We thoroughly discussed the situation in Artsakh. I informed him that Azerbaijan was using firearms, even mortars, against civilians and civilian infrastructures in Artsakh, targeting local residents doing farm work in plots of lands attached to their houses. We have injured people. I told the Russian ambassador that all the actions are being coordinated by the Azerbaijani authorities and are aimed at depriving the civilians of their right to a peaceful and secure life in their Homeland.
"We both stated the important fact: after the negotiations with the Russian side, the Azerbaijani troops left the Parukh community. However, I stressed that the Azerbaijani soldiers were still staying on the slopes of Karaglukh and that the Azerbaijani provocation was first of all against the Russian peacekeepers and, if went unpunished, it could recur at any moment. We also talked about the rights of Armenian nationals living in Russia and in Ukraine, and many of them are willing to return to Armenia or leave for a third country. I also drew the ambassador's attention to the situation along Armenia's borders. Azerbaijani armed forces are still occupying parts of Armenia's sovereign territory in Syunik and Gegharkunik," Ms Tovmasyan wrote.
