ArmInfo.NA Speaker Alen Simonyan accused the "Hayastan" and "I have Honor" opposition factions of coordinated actions with Azerbaijan, after they announced a 4-day boycott of the plenary session and a decision to leave for Artsakh and the border villages of Armenia. And his party colleague, MP from the Civil Contract faction Vahagn Aleksanyan took out the flag of Artsakh from the rostrum of the parliament, previously set by head of the "Hayastan" opposition faction Seyran Ohanyan.
"I want to understand when these people (MPs from the opposition - ed. note) will work, when they will justify the salary they receive, when these people will justify the money spent by the state on them," Simonyan said.
Alen Simonyan accused the opposition of putting forward very few legislative initiatives and hardly participating in international visits and meetings. "The most famous "meeting" with Azerbaijan and Turkey was the vote against the report on democracy in Armenia. After that, there were no significant, serious, significant meetings. There were no proposals to the Prime Minister to hold a meeting on the topic of Artsakh or receive information in connection with the situation. "No, their task is to come here, to say that everything is kept secret from them, to avoid any talk: coordinated work with the Azerbaijani armed forces, a statement-provocation on the border. Everything coincides. This is not a coincidence," said the head of the National Assembly.
According to him, the purpose of today's presence of the opposition at the opening of the parliament session is to make a statement and leave, "to press the button that provides salaries at the expense of MPs." "The faction could easily spread a statement: do not come to this hall at all, but no, you had to come, register, then apply to the NA apparatus, and then say, this is a political action, there are valid reasons for our absence, do not deduct from the salary," Simonyan stressed, suggesting the opposition MPs to lay down their parliamentary mandates.
It should be noted that after the head of the "Hayastan" faction Seyran Ohanyan planted the flag of Artsakh on the tribune of the National Assembly, it was removed from there and placed in the inner part of the rostrum by MP of the ruling faction Vahagn Aleksanyan, stating that the previous government " For 30 years, instead of putting this flag in the right place and keeping it strong, they only engaged in looting.."
