Armen Pambukhchyan was appointed Minister of Emergency Situations

ArmInfo.By the decree of President Vahagn Khachaturian, Armen Pambukhchyan was appointed Minister of Emergency Situations. This was reported by the press  service of the President.

On April 11, by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Armen  Pambukhchyan was dismissed from the post of First Deputy Minister of  Emergency Situations. He was appointed to this position on September  25, 2020.

On March 30, after searches at the Ministry of Emergency Situations,  former head of the department Andranik Piloyan (he has been head of  the Ministry of Emergency Situations since July 7, 2020), who had  previously been awarded the highest title of "National Hero", was  detained. On April 1, the court granted the request of the  investigating body for arrest, which accuses Piloyan of taking a  large bribe. It was reported that as part of the preliminary  investigation of the criminal case, data were obtained that officials  of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received bribes in large and  especially large amounts, facilitated this, committed theft on a  large scale, and also received and gave illegal rewards in large and  especially large amounts, and etc.
