ArmInfo. The majority of the Armenian public finds it difficult to express its position on the need to recognize the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR).
This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the MPG consulting company, which presents an Armenian view of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. In particular, when asked whether Armenia should recognize the independence of the LPR and DPR, 27.6% of respondents found it difficult to answer. 24.2% voted for the "definitely yes" option, 20.1%- "rather yes", 18.6% voted "against" the recognition of the LPR and DPR, and only 9.6% "rather disagree".
However, with regards to Russia's recognition of the independence of the unrecognized people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk, in general, 65.3% approved such actions by the Russian Federation. In particular, 34.1% of respondents consider this a positive step, 31.1% - rather positive. 7.7% of respondents unequivocally negatively perceived this fact, 4.8% - "rather negatively", and 22.2% found it difficult to answer.
When asked whether you consider Russia's military actions in Ukraine justified, 27% of the respondents answered unequivocally "yes", 18.8%- rather "yes", 24.7% categorically against, 14.9% were rather against, and 14.7% -found it difficult to answer.
At the same time, the majority (53.5%) of respondents believe that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will end with the defeat of Ukraine, 2.4% believe that Russia will be defeated, 27.8% believe that there will be no winners at all, and 16.3% found it difficult answer. The survey also showed that the majority of respondents (64.8%) believe that the Ukrainian conflict is, in fact, a conflict between the United States and Russia, the percentage of those who disagree with this thesis was 16.6%, 15.1% found it difficult to answer.
When asked whether the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will lead to global changes in the world, 42% of citizens answered unequivocally "yes", 34.3% - "rather yes", 7.8% - "rather no", 7.2 % of respondents do not support such a thought. 8.7% found it difficult to answer.
According to the study, 55% of respondents expressed a negative position in connection with Western sanctions against Russia, 17.8% - rather negatively, 8.4% - positively, -11%- rather positively, 7.9% - found it difficult to answer. Do the sanctions against Russia affect Armenia, 53.9% of respondents answered unequivocally "yes", 23.7%-"rather yes", 9.6%- "rather no", 8.2% believe that they do not affect at all and 4.7 % - found it difficult to answer.
However, in general, respondents do not see the risks of nuclear war as of today. In particular, 19.5% believe that there are definitely no such risks, 31.2% "rather not." 17.1% of respondents admit such a possibility, 24.5% consider it "rather likely".
At the same time, according to the survey, the Armenian public is quite positive about the departures of Russian citizens to Armenia, in particular, 47.8% positively assess this fact, 38.8% - rather positively, 5.2% - rather negatively, 6.6% - completely negative, and 1.6% found it difficult to answer.
At the same time, the majority of respondents are of the opinion that the relocation of Russian business to Armenia will have a positive impact on the Armenian economy, in general, 85.2% agreed with this statement, of which 52.4% are definitely sure, 32.8% are rather sure, 5. 5% - rather no, definitely not - 4.9%, found it difficult to answer - 4.4%.
It should be noted that the survey was conducted through telephone calls to residents of the Republic of Armenia during the period from April 2 to April 6 of this year, the sample size was 1002, the sampling error was +/- 3%.
