ArmInfo.Chairman of the Republican Party (RPA) Serzh Sargsyan will take part in an opposition rally in Yerevan's Freedom Square, RPA Vice-Chairman Armen Ashotyan told reporters on Tuesday.
According to him, Mr Sargsyan will take part in the rally not only as a representative of a political force or as a person who contributed to the development of Armenia and Artsakh, but also as a concerned citizen of Armenia, who cannot calmly observe what is going on round the two Armenian republics.
"Just imagine, a disastrous situation forces Armenia's third president to not only organize a struggle against Armenia's incumbent authorities and for Artsakh, but also take part in the rally. Last time such a situation must have been when the three ex-presidents met - Sargsyan, Kocharyan and Ter-Petrosyan," Ashotyan said.
"We want to urge the public to remember dignity, national interests, threats. Secondly, we want to address a clear message to the international community. Since the so-called international community is only guided by its own interests, it will take advantage of the weak and anti-national forces in power in Armenia. and we are urging this community not to do so," Ashotyan said.
