ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Head of the Great Britain-Armenia Friendship Group of UK Parliament Tim Loughton.
According to the press service of the Prime Minister, Pashinyan expressed hope that the visit of the delegation will give a new impetus to the further development of Armenian-British relations, including in the inter-parliamentary arena. He noted that the Armenian government is interested in expanding cooperation with the UK in the political, economic, cultural and other fields.
Tim Loughton expressed confidence that cooperation at the parliamentary level will continue to be strengthened, and they will make every effort to contribute to the deepening of bilateral political and economic ties. He stressed the importance of democratic reforms in our country and expressed confidence that their effective implementation will contribute to the further progress of Armenia.
The situation in the South Caucasus, in particular, around Nagorno-Karabakh was touched upon.
Prime Minister Pashinyan presented his observations on the processes taking place around Nagorno- Karabakh and stressed the importance of an adequate response from the international community to the destructive actions of Azerbaijan. The head of government touched upon the humanitarian problems that have arisen as a result of Azerbaijan's actions in Artsakh, Baku's steps to destroy the Armenian cultural heritage in the territories under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces, the issues of demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the Armenian-Turkish dialogue.
