Armenian MP indignant at EU, NATO military attaches

ArmInfo.The military attaches of the EU and NATO member- states visited the airbase of RA Ministry of Defense, on March 31.   

Commander, Colonel Samvel Tavadyan informed the guests of the  airbase's daily routine and answered their questions. The military  attaches were shown around the territory and saw the arms and  equipment. 

The military attaches were shows the SU30SM aircraft, which was  evidence that all the four aircraft were in Armenia. Thus, the  reports by Azerbaijani and Turkish media that the aircraft are  allegedly involved in the hostilities in Ukraine are false.  

Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition parliamentary bloc With Honor,  was indignant at the foreign states. 

"The NATO and EU military attaches in Armenia visited the airbase.  And the goal of their visit turns out to be making sure whether the  aircraft are here or, as Azerbaijani mass media are claiming, are  involved in the hostilities in Ukraine. 

"It is not at all something new that [Armenia's] government does not  enjoy any respect or authority in the world. And some of our  tragedies are the result of it.   

"However, the fact that many of the NATO and EU member-states are not  actively responding to Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh,  occupation of Armenia's sovereign territory during the post- Soviet  period and that they are concerned about whether our planes are here  or not is causing anger," Mr Abrahamyan said.  

The agencies interested in our region are guided by their own  interests, while Armenia's government is only observing their actions  and slapping. 

"The most important is that the Civil Contract party retain power and  maintain warm relations with Turkey," he said.  

A report was disseminated recently about Armenia having allegedly  provided its SU 30SM fighters to Russia in its military operation in  Ukraine. Armenia's Ministry of Defense refuted the report, but a  number of media outlets continue disseminating it.
