ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani armed forces have provoked a skirmish and used a combat drone in Nagorno-Karabakh, according to a report by the Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
On March 24, the Azerbaijani armed forces crossed the line of contact into the Russian peacekeepers' area of responsibility and established control of the village of Parukh, Askeran region, and attempted an advance in the eastern direction.
"The negotiations for several hours with the participation of the Russian peacekeepers and Artsakh representatives did not produce results, and the enemy did not withdraw to its jump-off positions. Moreover, on the night of March 25 the Azerbaijani units opened fire at the units of the Artsakh defense army, using a combat drone. As a result, the enemy sustained losses, with at least five servicemen killed. The Armenian side has one injured," the official report reads.
The situation was relative stable at 9:00am.
"We expect the Russian peacekeepers to take measures to ensure the Azerbaijani forces' withdrawal to their jump-off positions."
