ArmInfo. Arbitrary court trials of Armenian POWs are continuing in Azerbaijan. Two Armenian POWs, Ishkhan Sargsyan and Vladimir Rafaelyan, have been sentenced to long-term imprisonment on trumped-up charges.
On March 5, the Sabunchi court of Baku sentenced Ishkhan Sargsyan to 19 years in prison and Vladimir Rafaelyan to 18 years in prison on charges of terrorism. The Prosecution claims they were members of an intelligence group.
In fact, the Armenian servicemen were captured by Azerbaijani troops in Armenia's sovereign territory. Since May 12, 2021, Azerbaijani troops have been occupying territories in Armenia's Gegharkunik and Syunik, terrorizing the local population.
