ArmInfo. Azerbaijan announced today that it opened a criminal case against Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan and put them on the wanted list. In fact, two former presidents of Armenia are being persecuted in parallel by Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan (leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, ed. note). The son of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, Levon Kocharyan, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"I don't understand why Azerbaijan doesn't just turn to the Armenian prosecutor's office. I am convinced that the two prosecutors and their leaders will be happy to support the charge in court, and the judge (Anna Danibekyan, who is considering the Kocharyan case, ed. note), of course, will not see a problem" , Levon Kocharyan wrote.
As ArmInfo previously reported, today the head of the special investigation department of the military prosecutor's office of Azerbaijan, senior adviser to justice Emil Tagiyev said that Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan were put on the wanted list on charges of allegedly "inciting ethnic hatred in 1988."
The Republican Party of Armenia has already criticized the silence of the RA authorities on this issue, and noted that in this way the Azerbaijani authorities are trying to avoid responsibility for the criminal acts committed against Armenians, including during the large-scale 44-day aggression against Artsakh.
