ArmInfo. A protest will take place in front of the Marriott Armenia hotel at 5:30pm. The protesters will raise the problem of the EU Delegation's improper attitude to the protection of European values in Armenia.
According to a public announcement, the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly will meet in Yerevan on Feb. 21-22.
"On February 21, the delegates to the Assembly, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Mrs. Andrea Wiktorin and European states' ambassadors are scheduled to meet with representatives of Armenia's civil society. With the EU Delegation's subjective approach to the elections of representatives of Armenia's civil society considered, we are not sure that the issues arousing public concern over the deteriorating state of democracy and human rights protection will be raised at the meeting," reads a statement by Edgar Ghazaryan, the ex-head of the RA Constitutional Court staff.
The Youth Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) will join the protest.
In a statement issued last night the ARF-D Youth Union calls for joining the protest.
"We are going to express our indignation at the European delegations over the absence of response to the permanent manifestations of anti-Armenian sentiments of Turkey and Azerbaijan, insufficient pressure over return of Armenian POWs and vicious policy of equating Armenia to the aggressor state Azerbaijan."
"Since an Azerbaijani delegation will arrive in Armenia, we attach special importance to make our voice herd by them. So we are calling on our compatriots to take part in the action."
